Welcome to The Sandplay Studio at Manyana! Enjoy a 'hands on', expressive therapy that empowers you to explore your inner world while healing and growing in a safe, nonjudgemental, empathetic environment.
Sandplay Therapy invites you to explore your inner feelings, thoughts and concerns by placing miniatures in dry or wet sand inside a wooden tray. I will accompany you with acceptance and compassion as you discover and grow your natural insights, strengths and resources.
People of all ages, experiences and cultures can benefit from Sandplay Therapy. No experience, abilities or skills are necessary - simply bring your curiosity and allow your 'instinctive Self' to lead the way while you work with sand, water and miniatures (symbols). Play is vital for our health, vitality and wellbeing - and it's OK if you feel a bit silly at first!

Play and grow together! Guided therapeutic work in the sand tray can help you build and strengthen your relationships by sharing experiences and concerns safely to develop new perspectives and deeper understanding. Your work together may draw on narrative therapy, cultural counselling and family systems approaches and may be combined with individual counselling or resilience coaching.
In conjunction with talking therapy and psychoeducation, trauma-informed directed Sandtray Therapy can help you heal unresolved emotional trauma; tap into your natural strengths and resilience; and develop a sense of meaning and purpose. My approach is informed by extensive experience of trauma counselling and guided by the key trauma-informed practice principles of safety, trustworthiness, collaboration, choice and empowerment.
Sandplay Therapy can be used to help with decision-making and to support personal growth and development. As a non-verbal therapy, Sandplay Therapy is valuable for people with dementia, adult survivors of childhood trauma, migration and belonging issues, complicated bereavement and a range of relationship issues including divorce.
Combining neuropsychotherapy, person centred therapy and trauma-informed therapy, this therapeutic modality offers a way to harness your neuroplasticity and make meaningful changes in your life.
Sandplay Therapy may be used alongside talking therapy (counselling) and resilience coaching.
